Platformer where the player controls Sonic, a very fast-moving hedgehog that collects rings as he goes through levels to free his animal friends captured by Dr. Robotnik. Either avoid enemies or jump on their heads. Has Robotnik as an end of level boss and bonus rounds to try to capture Chaos Emeralds.

There are at least 2 versions of Sonic the Hedgehog. One version is clearly marked as "Not For Resale" and came with later Sega Genesis units. Other versions were traditional boxed copies of the game.

At Sonic title screen press Up, Down, Left, Right.You will hear a chime now hold A and press Start and you can choose your level

I know another cheat code for this-on the title screen,press UP,C,DOWN,CLEFT,C,RIGHT,C,AND START.If done correctly,when the game starts,you can transform by B,CHANG THE THINGS WITH A,AND PUT THEM OUT WITH C!P.S:this may take afew trys.
