(posted: 11/18/2004 4:41:44 AM) Answer Courtesy of Shevy: Technically, a "kcal" does equal 1,000 calories, however in the U.S. what we refer to as a "calorie" is actually a "kcal". Confused? Basically, every time we mention the word "calorie", it is implied that we are talking about a kilocalorie and not the true scientific definition of a calorie.
