Madden NFL 07

I know this is probably a silly question. but i just gotmy first xbox (xbox 360) and I'm starting with madden 2007 in franchise mode. I can't seem to find the right steps to save a game that is already in progress. when I bring up the main menu, I see the quit option, but that causes me to lose te progress of the current game. is there a way to qui
