Sly dodges lasersSly Cooper's opening sequence tells you the story of the Thievious Racconus.  The Thievious Racoonus is a journal that Sly's family has passed down from generation to generation.  It's full of special moves that Sly's ancestors had learned.  One night, five bad guys came in the middle of the night and stole the Thievious Raccoonus - right before Sly was set to inherit the book.  The bad guys then ripped the book into five pieces, and took off.

Sly Cooper has made it his mission to seek out the five pieces of the Thievious Racoonus, avenge his father, and claim his birthright.

I give this game a 10/10.  Here's a game with easy control and great graphics - and still manages to be a challenge.  The first thing that appealed to me was the cartoon-like graphics.  The creators of the game did a great job giving the game a unique look.

The other thing that appealed to me was the story line.  You are a raccoon that steals from people that make a living stealing from others - it kinda reminds me of a Robin Hood like character.

Sly gets zappedThe control of the main character, Sly Cooper, is similar to Jak and Daxter.  Like Jak and Daxter, the right analog stick swings the camera 360 degrees around Sly to get the lay of the land, see distant enemies, or figure out your next move.  Sly's unique weapon is a hook.  He can swat at bad guys, and he can use it to climb and swing.  Sly's also got the ability to use "super-sneaky thief moves" - you hold down the circle button where you see that the screen is shining blue.

Sly Cooper and the Theivious Racoonus is easy to control, has great graphics, and still manages to be a challenge. I recommend it to everyone.
