Did you get a Google Eris, The Droid, a myTouch, or another Google Android phone for Christmas? At this point, you've probably gotten used to the interface, and you're now looking to have a bit of fun with your new phone. Well, good news! The Android operating system has a ton of great games. Even better - it has several great FREE games.
While Android hasn't yet attracted the attention of companies like Electronic Arts or Ubisoft, several game creators have released some incredible stuff for the Android platform. Today, let's have a look at some of the best FREE games on Google's Android platform:
Raging Thunder Lite - This racing game has great graphics, and can be controlled either through touch or through the accelerometer. The Lite version of the app only lets you race around one track, and is hence quite short, but it's an impressive app that'll quickly give you an idea of how powerful the Android operating system really is.
Mystique Chapter 1 by Bendroid - This is a 3D horror adventure game, which has you waking up in a bloody bathroom. You're locked in and you have to find your way out. It's a point and click adventure, and you combine items to solve puzzles. The 3D graphics are great for the platform, and the puzzles aren't easy. The game isn't for everyone - obviously, it has a mature theme, and the game has a slower pace.
SpeedForge 3D - One of the best 3D games on the platform, because there aren't a whole ton of 3D games on Android. Regardless, the game is a worthy download to show you exactly what the platform is capable of. In SpeedForge 3D, you're flying a floating car that can shoot weaponry as you pick it up. If it sounds a bit like WipeOut to you, that's because it IS like WipeOut. As you can see in the video below, it was a bit hard for me to play through the camera's screen!
