Games Release List - Week of 2/7/10

This year has already been ridiculous with the amount of games released, nevermind playing catchup from November and December. The week of 2/7/10 looks to contain another bunch of games worth owning in any collection.

Bioshock 2 - preemptive Game of the week. The first Bioshock in 2007 shocked the gaming world with its superb story and seamless delivery with diverse gameplay mechanics wrapped in a cutting edge graphical package. Bioshock 2 looks to do all that again, and then some. This time, we will be trying to figure out the mysteries behind the Little Sisters and of your character, now a prototype Big Daddy. New gameplay mechanics include 5 multiplayer modes, including a 2-player story-driven mode set totally apart from the main story of the 1-player game (or so it seems). Available on PC and PS360 in either regular or Special Edition packaging. Preemptive 5 out of 5.

Dante's Inferno - if you liked God of War 1 & 2, you'll like this game. It looks awesome. It's just too bad it wasn't called God of War 3, because it literally steals uses everything God of War has. When I first saw this game playing, I loved the enemy character designs. Looks fantastic. Available on PS360 (Divine Edition is PS3 exclusive). Preemptive 4 out of 5.

Shiren the Wanderer - I don't know what it is about Shiren, but this particular roguelike drew me in on the Nintendo DS. A roguelike is a hardcore action-rpg that incorporates strategy in your fighting style at all times. This is not for the squeamish; you will likely be easily frustrated if you don't have the patience of dying and rebuilding your character: when you die, you lose all of your items. If you're up for the challenge, you're up for some fun. Available on the Wii. Preemptive 4 out of 5. Note: In the DS version, you have the ability to connect online to a friend's game and save him deep within the dungeon. This is not going to be available in the new version.
