Get ready Pokemon fans, Pokemon HeartGold and Pokemon SoulSilver are going to be available March 14th for your Nintendo DS! And to take the egde off waiting, here is a preview of the exciting new content you can expect on your training journeys.

Train For The Pokeathlon! Perhaps one the most thrilling new features in Pokemon HeartGold and Pokemon SoulSilver is the Pokéathlon sports festival. The Pokeathlon is comprised of a series of athletic events that will challenge and reward your Pokemon for participating. Let your Pokemon compete in the Hurdle Dash or the Snow Throw. Guide them using your Nintenod DS stylus with a steady hand and quick reflexes.

Each Pokemon will be measured according to five different performance levels. Speed, Power, Skill, Stamina, and Jump will all play a role in your Pokemon's training and evolution. Winning Pokeathlon events will earn you and your Pokemon Athlete Points which can be exchanged for a variety of fun and useful items. Best of all, you'll be able to challenge your friends in Pokeathlon events using the Nintendo DS wireless communications link! So train hard and get ready to bring home the gold!

Harvest Mysterious Apricorns! Throughout the Johto region you will be able to find Apricorn Trees. These trees grow a variety of harvestable Apricorns. Collect enough of these Apricorns in your Apricorn Box and you will be able to have them turned into different specialized Poke Balls.Use these Poke Balls to capture stronger and faster Pokemon when regular Poke Balls fail.

Show Off Your New Pokegear! Fire up your faithful Pokegear to guide you through every step of your adventure. The Pokegear includes a wealth of useful features including a phone, map, and radio to help you get around. You will be able to contact people you meet throughtout the Johto area. You'll also be able to send prize money to your mom who might just be able to help you buy hard-to-find items.
