Kirby’s Epic Yarn, the ninth installment of the immensely popular Kirby series, was proudly unveiled at E3 2010. Back in action, Kirby is no longer the cute, pudgy little guy we all know and love. His 2-D world has been drastically altered.

Kirby has journeyed from lands of full-bodied scenes and characters to a new realm of patchwork visuals and creatures.
The game has been completely re-stitched, assembled in a ragbag motif of felt, jeans, thread, buttons and zippers. The game strings Kirby, in newfangled yarn form, around his new surroundings in imaginative ways. He can extend his cord arms out to grab far objects and enemies. He can also alter his freshly sewn world in unique, compelling ways that help him on his journey. For example, zippers in gameplay can be manipulated to reveal hidden scenes and/or remove obstacles in Kirby’s way!

If your pint-sized hero needs to get to higher ground, use the Wii-mote to have Kirby throw out a piece of yarn-arm and grab a yellow button. With this, he can grapple and swing to reach his item or destination. If Kirby happens to come across special threaded buttons, he can yank them to sew/fold the background closed. This changesthe position of the fabric in the backclothand, allowing him to close the void between a moat or chasm, creating an easier way to travel!
