Blizzard's StarCraft II Reviewed

Completing missions in StarCraft II can also provide research opportunities for Raynor to uncover information about the Zerg and Protoss races. In order to achieve these points missions tend to have secondary objects such as discovering a series of unmapped artifacts that will reward you with new knowledge of the opposing race. When visiting the laboratory onboard the Raynor’s starcrusier you will be given a choice between two upgrades that correlate to the amount of research you have discovered. These choices permanently affect certain aspects of your buildings or units, such as adding an autoturret to all of your bunkers.

The missions themselves in StarCraft II are equally as thrilling as the upgrade opportunities you have onboard your starcruiser. Each missions is specifically tailored to the environment that it takes place in. From space platforms to volcanic underground caverns, no two missions feel alike in either their environment or objectives. Some missions force the use of a small squad of units to discover and assault enemy fortifications, while others follow a more conventional build-and-conquer logic – but while staying ahead of a map-engulfing wall of fire. This gameplay variety makes the StarCraft II campaign a genuinely wonderful experience that provides challenge and reward for all the right reasons.

The multiplayer experience that StarCraft II offers is a healthy mix of old and new. There is no shortage of familiar units in any of the three races and the build order of many structures remains intact. This ensures that StarCraft veterans will feel right at home playing StarCraft II, but the surprising thing is that none of the similarities feel outdated or irrelevant. If possible, StarCraft II has taken a well-balanced battle experience between three unique factions and further perfected it, while adding many new units and options that create an experience that is completely new.
Stay tuned as we intend to present more in-depth coverage of the StarCraft II multiplayer including tips and strategies to help you fight to your full potential!

The StarCraft II legacy has only just begun. Blizzard delivers another rock-solid strategy game that caters to a variety of players while staying true to their dedicated fans whom will no doubt spend countless lifetimes waging war amongst the stars. As for us, we’ll be busy trying to repair our only Supply Station from your chain of twenty level 3 Vikings.
