Modern Warfare 3 has a Double XP weekend this weekend, to celebrate the new Content Collection available for the PlayStation 3. In addition to players getting access to the new maps (finally) on the PlayStation, Double XP will give players a chance to prestige quicker, earn new weapons faster, and generally do some fragging on the new maps.
Activision sent over the following statement about the new Content Collection available for the PlayStation 3. Here's the statement they gave to me:
We're excited to announce that the Modern Warfare 3 Content Collection #1 is now available to purchase for all gamers on the PlayStation Network. Content Collection #1 includes the brand new multiplayer maps Liberation, Piazza, Overwatch and Black Box along with new Special Ops Missions Black Ice and Negotiator, marking the first time Special Ops has been made downloadable online in franchise history.
The Modern Warfare 3 Content Season is co-developed by Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software. Information on the MW3 Content Collection #1 for the PC will be coming soon.
