Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Pre-Orders Begin On Amazon

Looks like Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will be set in the future, featuring fighting robots and futuristic planes.  Black Ops 2 will be the third high profile, high budget futuristic shooter on tap for this Holiday season, with Halo 4 and Ghost Recon: Future Soldier also being released in the Fall.  How different is Call of Duty Black Ops 2 from its competition?  Check out the trailer below to see the first footage of Black Ops 2 and decide for yourself.

Alex Mason's son, David Mason, will be the protagonist in this game, with similar flashback-style story elements.  Specifically, there will be a flashback to Afganistan in the 80s, riding horseback.  This will be another globe trotting adventure for the Mason family, with China, Washington, and New York all being attacked at one point or another in the game.

The trailer for Black Ops II was first shown during the NBA playoff game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Denver Nuggets on TNT.

Activision's CEO said today: "No one is going to be able to call this Black Ops 1.5.  There's a lot of new stuff in this game. There's a lot of new ideas. We are going for it. We are taking some risks."

While this may be true, as mentioned above, the game does have plenty of futuristic company this year.  Given that Call of Duty has been to World War II, Vietnam, the 80s, the present day, and the day after tomorrow, where else did the audience expect to be taken next?

Call of Duty: Black Ops II will be released on November 13 on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.

Amazon is now offering pre-orders for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 - and it's already breaking pre-order records.

No official word from Treyarch if Quaid will give the people the air they so desperately need.

Novel ideas...
Here's a novel idea... why doesn't Treyarch fix the lag compensation problem with multi-player games... the longevity & replayablility of this game is all centered in the multi-player mode. "Magic Bullet" shots that bend around corners or entire clips unloaded into the opposition that have no effect, make online play at times, unplayable. Is this really beyond Treyarch's programming capabilities???

Novel idea number two, stop the hacks and cheaters. Why can't we just play the game as intended. The boosters need to be booted. Everybody knows a bogus KDR or shot accuracy number... is it really that hard to stop this ilk? This alone will move the game up to a new level of playability. I hope they have something in store for the hackers, cheaters & boosters... they ruin a plyers experience on a platform. Is this also beyond the programming capabilities of Treyarch???

Other than that, I am sure the game will be beatiful and gameplay, as it is intended will be stellar. Go Treyarch!!! We are all in anticipation!!!

Hey, Poster from 05/02 - Anonymous
Treyarch created Black Ops which did not have lag comp, that was introduced in MW3. Also, I don't recall ever having to deal with hackers in Black Ops. Boosters and other cheaters, however, are everywhere in online gaming. I do hope that Treyarch has people dedicated to reviewing players that are reported so that the boosting and cheating can be kept at a minimum. Really, I couldn't care less about boosters, they are just pathetic, as long as they don't effect the outcome of a game.
