Borderlands (PC) Needs to Gear Up For the Big League (11/8/2009 1:26:38 AM)

The sequel to Valve's Game of the Year Left 4 Dead has had quite a ride. From its initial announcement at E3, Left 4 Dead 2 has drawn some harsh criticism from the gaming community. It was also adamantly justified by Valve to deliver a higher level of quality and gameplay that simply could not have been achieved other than as a stand-alone game. Kingston today announced a bootable 40GB Solid State Drive (SSD). The SSD should go on sale for a mere $115. Kingston's V series will be sold with mounting devices for a 3.5" drive bay, and software so that you can clone your current boot drive. This will reduce the amount of work you'll have to put in to get your system running with this new drive.
Kingston's drive can reach a PCMark score of over 13,000 (they quoted a score of 13,883 in their test system). A typical hard drive averages ab

Hulu's Pay Service Could Be An Opportunity To Target New Platforms (10/25/2009 1:49:23 PM)
-
Over the past week it has been rumored that Hulu will be looking into a pay service for their online video delivery starting in 2010. Much of the industry reaction to this possibility has been overblown, as Hulu will clearly be able to remain profitable with their current content promotion. But the option for providing premium or subscription-based content is certainly a direction that could help Hulu continue to grow not online with content, but overall reach.
That growth can be very promising, especially depending on how Hulu deliv
