Your princess has been captured by Bowser!  Run and jump through 8 levels (sub-divided into sections) to rescue her!

Do you mean -- why isn't the two player mode simultaneous in Super Mario Brothers? Because that's what I'm answering here. The answer to that question is that the whole split-screen debate wasn't worked through when Super Mario Brothers was created. Although Nintendo knew how to do two player simultaneous action (Mario Brothers), they didn't knwo how to manage two seperate instances of the same game. Later, they learned this technique, but not without a lot of pixel/sprite blinking in the mean time.

(posted: 2/20/2003 7:22:14 AM) It's all about the choice of pipes. Here's the order that you need to take the pipes. Pass the first two pipes, go across the lava pit (it has elevators), and head down the third pipe. Next pipe you'll want is suspended in mid air. You can't reach this pipe, but start jumping near the pipe, and you'll reveal a block that you can jump to that'll let you get to the pipe. Go down it. The next pipe is right after a lava pit (it is grey). Start swimming! Kill or avoid the "Hammer Brother", and whoomp. Enter the pipe at the end. There you go. Killing Bowser will get you to the next quest. I prefer to fireball Bowser, but like the other bosses in the game, you can grab the axe and sink him if you've already been hit. Good luck!
